Duane Hockenberry Obituary

Duane A. Hockenberry, 81, of Menchtown Road, Everett, PA, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on May 10, 1937 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Emory C. and Helen R. (Miller) Hockenberry.  On September 4, 1965 in McConnellsburg, PA; he was united in marriage to the former Donna (Beegle) Hockenberry.

Along with his wife he is survived by children Deanna Barton and fiancé Emory Thomas, Everett, PA, Don A. Hockenberry married to Georgie, Everett, PA, Dennis W. Hockenberry married to Bonneta, Breezewood, PA; daughter-in-law Michelle Hockenberry; grandchildren Joshua (Lisa), Daniel (Becky), Lantz (Ashley), Tyne (Levi), Alexis (Brian), Danielle (Michael), Tristan, Tehya, Aaron, Maria (Phil), Roger, Donte and Nadia; great-grandchildren Jacob, Charleigh, Bentley, Mikayla, Gaige, Michael, Elora, Nevaeh, Xander, Leland, Sunshine, Rylee, Phonix, Xaiden and Douglas; brother Roger Hockenberry, Everett, PA.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son Douglas D. Hockenberry.

Over Duane’s career he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and later owning and operating his own truck, where he drove coast to coast with his wife.  He also later worked for Bollman’s Charter Service.  Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading books, collecting farm tractors, traveling out west, and spending time with his family and his dog “Leo Rover”.

At the request of the family there will be no services held.
