Dorothy V. (Morgart) Steele

Dorothy V. Steele, 95, of Walnut Tree Lane, Hopewell, PA; passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at The Village at Morrison’s Cove.  She resided at the Village for the last five years.  She was born on May 8, 1928 in Rainsburg, PA; a daughter of the late William E. and Pearl A. (Wertz) Morgart.  On September 17, 1949 in Cumberland, MD she was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” G. Steele.  He preceded her in death on March 1, 2012.

She is survived by special nephew and niece Kenny and Barbara Morgart of Lonaconing, MD; niece Karen Morgart, Barling, AR  and nieces Jennifer Bouthillette and Julie Morgart of Ridgley, WV; sister-in-law Shelby Morgart of Ridgely, WV; great nephew Joshua (Sarah) Morgart; great great nieces Ceanna and Lumyn Morgart and great great nephew Wylder Morgart and many other nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by brothers Donald L. and William S. Morgart.

Mrs. Steele was a homemaker, she enjoyed going to auctions, attending bluegrass and gospel festivals with her husband.  She loved her cats and two special ones Tag and Whiskers.

At Dorothy’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service and burial will be held privately at Woods Church Cemetery.
