Dorothy O. (Riley) Smith

Dorothy O. Smith, 94, of Everett, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Pennknoll Village.  She was born on August 6, 1925 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Benjamin and Pearl (Kinkead) Riley.  On July 12, 1943 in Cumberland, MD she was united in marriage to Harry David Smith.  He preceded her in death on September 4, 1975. 

She is survived by the following children Roger Smith married to Joanne (Smith), Everett, PA; Linda Walsh, Anchorage, AK; Vickie Darlene Smith, Everett; Cindy married to Joe Spicuzza, Penn Hills, PA; John E. Smith, Everett, and Brenda Smith, Everett; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by children Judy Marie Smith, Patty Ann Smith and Gloria Jean Smith; grandson Martin T. Smith; siblings Benjamin Riley, James Riley, Margaret Sparks, George Riley and Edward Riley.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Clear Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.

She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1943.

Dorothy enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books and gardening.  She always put her family first.

Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on

Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 4-7 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett with Pastor Todd Bowles and Pastor Rick Hall officiating.

Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
