Dorothy L. Goldizen, 84, Everett, PA; passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home, Everett. She was born on May 10, 1941 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Herman P. and Mary Pauline (Rock) Morse. On September 1, 1962 in the Everett Church of God, she was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” A. Goldizen.
Along with her husband of sixty-three years, she is survived by children De A. Karns, Bedford, PA and Brian Goldizen married to Lori (Gerber), Everett, PA; grandchildren Scott Batcho married to Kristen, Brenden Goldizen married to Morgan, Nicole Ward married to Kenny; and great grandchildren Riley, Gabe, Avery, Maverick, Carson and Lennin and siblings Marjorie Kesselring, Clyde Morse and Darlene Schaffer.
She was preceded in death by her son Todd Goldizen.
She was an active member of the Everett Church of God, where she served in various capacities over the years.
Dot was a graduate of Everett High School and attended nursing school in Lancaster. She was employed at Bedford Memorial Hospital for over forty years until her retirement. After retirement she worked at Colonial Courtyard for two years and later worked at Donahoe Manor, and spent several years doing private care and home health care until her diagnosis with dementia.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, baking, doing yard work and caring for her sheep.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 12 noon in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor John Kisner and Pastor William Kisner officiating.
Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery.
