Donald J. Burket

Donald J. Burket, 89, of Everett, PA; passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at home.  He was born on May 19, 1936 in Everett, PA; a son of the late John and Ella (Welsh) Burket.  In 1955 at the Sideling Hill Christian Church; he was united in marriage to Helen L. (Mellott) Burket.  She preceded him in death on December 14, 2024.

He is survived by three children Dennis A. Burket married to April, Jeanette, PA; Diane Zimmerman married to Craig, Bedford, PA and Douglas Burket married to Jennifer, Bedford, PA; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Donald Burket, Jr.; and a brother Thomas Burket.

He was a graduate of Everett High School.  While living in Maryland, he started his career working at Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore and later working at Thompson Steel as  a superintendent.  During those years, he found great joy in showing his quarter horses and spending time boating.  After the family returned to Everett, he became an owner-operator with George Transfer.  Throughout his life, he had a deep love for riding motorcycles.

Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.
