Delmar P. Leader

Delmar P. Leader, 90 of Blair Road, Everett, PA; passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on August 1, 1935 in Everett, PA; a son of the late George W.  and Eva (Clark) Leader.  He was married for 60 years to his loving wife Joann F. (Robinette) on September 25, 1965, in Winchester, VA.. 

He is survived by three sons Gregory Leader, married to Michele (knee), Everett, PA;  Jeffery Leader, married to Natalie (Bowser), Bedford, PA and Jerry Leader, married to Tanya (Black), Breezewood,, PA;  Three grandchildren Dylan, Mikayla, and Allison and siblings Mary Calhoun, Everett, Pa; Donna Calhoun, Breezewood, PA; Genevieve Riley, Everett, PA; Curtis Leader Everett, PA; Charlotte Davis, Chico, CA; Rose Barr, Naples, FL; Gerald Leader married to Cathy (Foor), Everett, PA; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by two infant daughters Paula Jo and Karen Elaine and the following siblings: Donald Leader, George W. (Boone) Leader, John Leader, Jack Leader, Betty Perkins, Iva James, and an infant sister. 

Delmar worked as a heavy equipment operator and farmed. He retired from PBS Coal in Somerset then continued farming and drove triaxle for Garry Pepple for New Enterprise Stone and Lime. 

He was always on the move, doing something, whether it was washing or polishing the dump truck, tinkering, messing with the cows, or cutting firewood or taking his dog for a walk. 

He loved taking the grandkids for rides in the dump truck and on his tractors. He also enjoyed sitting on the porch swing and doing things with his grandkids, like snapping beans, doing puzzles playing in the sandbox with them. 

He was a member of the Bethel Christian Church, Clearville.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Bowles officiating.

Burial will be held at Mt. Union Cemetery, Mench.
