Dawn “Dee” Detwiler, 57, of Mountain View Drive, New Enterprise, PA; passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at UPMC Magee Womens Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter of Shirley J. (Sparks) Doyle of Everett and the late Alvin P. Doyle. On November 11, 2016 she was united in marriage to Denny R. Detwiler.
Along with her mother and husband she is survived by children Josh Pittman married to Courtney and children Canden and Evey; Adam Pittman and significant other Kelsey Shaw and children Grace, Tucker and an expected granddaughter; Alaina married to Adam Gates and children Mallory, Darcy and Atlas; Beth married to Bryan Fredrick and daughter Ainsley; and Connie married to Arron Ochoa and children Malachi, Ivy and Solomon; siblings Michael Doyle married to Brenda (Clites), Everett; Mark Doyle married to Dorothea “Dee” (Brown), Bunker Hill, WV and Tammy married to Philip Duvall, Everett; mother-in-law Anne Detwiler and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Gerald M. “Jerry” Doyle and father-in-law Harold Detwiler.
Dawn was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1982. Over the years she worked as a bank teller and previously worked at Staples and various gift shops.
She formerly attended the Pennwood Bible Church but most recently attended the Community Grace Brethren Church and was of strong Christian Faith. She enjoyed four-wheeling, helping others, being with family; especially her grandchildren, they were the joy of her life. Dawn had a big heart, she was always willing to help others and was very patriotic.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor D. J. Ritchey officiating.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
