David F. Pershing, 66, of Breezewood, PA; formerly of Elizabeth, PA; passed away on Friday, February 09, 2024 at his farm in Breezewood. He was a son of the late David O. and Katherine (Barton) Pershing.
He is survived by siblings Robert K. Pershing married to Elizabeth of Irwin, PA; and Mark A. Pershing married to Carolyn of Springboro, PA; niece Kaitlyn and great-niece Dalia of Meadville, PA; niece and nephew Cassidy and Mark also of Springboro; step brother Michael Moresea of Zelienople, PA; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
David was a graduate of Civil Engineering Technology from CCAC and studied in surveying technology at Penn State Mont Alto. He was employed by Penn Dot District 11 in Bridgeville, PA as a Project Manager in the Design Development Unit, retiring in 2015. After he retired David dedicated his time to taking care of his father.
David attended several different churches throughout his travel and was a very religious, kind, moral and giving person.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing with his family and friends, playing internet games with distant family and friends and kept sociably active daily. He was most noted for his prowess at turkey calling, and had won several state championships and events. He loved his farm and tending the fields and playing fetch with his ever faithful dog Rex.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Taylor Johnston officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
