David James Matthews

David James Matthews, 65, of Uniontown, PA; passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 13, 2024.  He was born on February 8, 1959 in Johnstown, PA; a son of Doris (Chappell) Matthews of Everett and the late James Matthews. 

He is survived by his mother, son Zac Matthews and grandson Walker Matthews, a fiancé Patty Mahoney and her three children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild, siblings Bill Matthews and Judy Furgison.

He was a graduate of Penn State University majoring in turf grass management.  He was employed at Superior Lawn Care for twenty-seven years.  

He loved live music, sports, hunting, playing pool and his family and friends.  He was always smiling and loved by everyone who ever met him.

Friends and Family will be received on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 2-6:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home.   

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bud Murphy’s      

718 Mc Cormick Avenue, Connellsville, PA 15425 on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 5-8 P.M.
