Daniel A. Swankler III, 79, of Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA. He was born on December 1, 1946 in Braddock, PA; a son of the late Daniel A. Swankler, Jr. and Caroline F. (Flohs) Swankler. On February 25, 1966 in Saltsburg, PA; he was united in marriage to Lois J. (Risher) Swankler.
Along with his wife of sixty years, he is survived by son Pastor Clifford D. Swankler married to Tonya, Everett, PA; Gideon M. Swankler married to Michele Murray, Chambersburg, PA; with many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Thomas Swankler, Caroline Swankler, Donna Loughner and Theresa Swankler.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel A. Swankler.
Daniel was a member of the Liberty Independent Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of Appalachian Bible College.
Daniel spent his life teaching and reaching children for the Lord Jesus Christ. After college he worked as the director at Bible to Youth Camp. He later moved to Bedford where he served as the director of Bedford and Fulton County with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Daniel used his talents for children’s outreaches, Vacation Bible Schools, and crusades, which included: ventriloquism; Gospel illusions; and puppeteering. He also served as the pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Bedford, as well as filling the pulpits in many of the area churches.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Clifford Swankler officiating.
Entombment will occur at the Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford.
