Connie Jean (Showalter) Mearkle

Connie Jean Mearkle, 73, of Clearville, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Clearville, PA on February 7, 1947 and was a daughter of the late William and Hilda (Redinger) Showalter.  On July 2, 1966 she was united in marriage to Victor G. Mearkle.

Along with her husband of fifty three years, she is survived by three daughters Viki Miller and her husband George, Wells Tannery, Donna Mearkle, Wolfsburg, PA and Marcia Mearkle, Clearville; seven grandchildren Chelsie, Taylor, Rachel, Katie, Morgan, Robert, and Guy and one great grandson Noah.

Mrs. Mearkle worked at various places over the years, having worked at Bananza in Breezewood, PA, Riverside in Bedford, PA, Everett High School cafeteria, Posthouse in Breezewood, PA, a manager at Burger King in Breezewood, Howard Johnson in Breezewood, The Coral in Everett, McDonald’s in Breezewood, and then retired later retiring from the Everett Foodliner.

Mrs. Mearkle was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, fishing, gardening, and doing puzzles.

She loved her family, flowers and dogs very much. She was also a loving, faithful wife who loved her husband with all her heart.   She enjoyed talking to people, she never met an enemy, and everyone that knew her loved her.

A Private Funeral Service will be held.
