Cipriano Fermen Cruz

Cipriano “Fermen” Cruz, 94, of Chaneysville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at UPMC Magee Hospital. 

He was born on July 7, 1928, in Martinez, Texas, a son of the late Agapito and Carmen (Castro) Cruz. On June 30, 1967, in Clearville, Pa., he was united in marriage to Deena M. (Miller) Cruz by Rev. May.

Along with his wife, he is survived by son, Darrel Cruz, and a sister, Martena “Marty” Martinez, Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Fermen served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Chester Guyton in Everett for many years, repairing televisions.

He was a member of the Chaneysville Prosperity Christian Church. He enjoyed playing his violin and singing along with his wife at several local nursing homes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending craft shows, church functions and crocheting. 

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, from 3 p.m. until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Home Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Delmas Bard and Pastor John Miller officiating. Everett Area Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
