Charles “Billy” W. Beegle

Charles “Billy” W. Beegle, 78, of Clearville, PA; passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at home.  He was born on August 23, 1946 in Clearville, PA; a son of the late Calvin W. and Margaret I. (Smith) Beegle.  On April 24, 1970 in Winchester, Virginia; he was united in marriage to Linda Lou (Clark) Beegle.  She preceded him in death on February 5, 2021.

He is survived by a daughter Angela Whisel married to Jeremy, Bedford and his grandson Jared W. Whisel; siblings Paul Beegle, Clearville; Dee Smith, Clearville; Kathy Kovachick, Cumberland, MD; Jimmy Beegle (Robin), Everett; Rusty Beegle (Brenda), Clearville; Terry Beegle (Trudy), Bedford; Eric Beegle (Ronda), Clearville; many nieces and nephews and special nephew Lil Eric “Wanz”; brother-in-law Deryl Clark (Wanda), Bedford; sisters-in-law Sherry Sipes (Gary), New Enterprise and Donna Diehl.

He was preceded in death by siblings Christine “Sis” Reid, Michael Beegle and Mary Ann Beegle; sisters-in-law Margaret “Peg” Beegle, Barbara Beegle and Cathy E. Clark; brother-in-law Richard D. Smith. 

Mr. Beegle formerly attended Rock Hill Christian Church. 

He worked for Klahre’s Pulpwood Logs and Lumber Inc. for many years as a cutter.

Billy enjoyed attending auctions, woodworking, especially making eagles, canes and trains.  He loved collecting antiques; some of his favorite finds were kettles, hammers and coins.   After retirement he loved spending time with his wife of fifty years.

Friends and family may attend at time of visitation from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Akers Funeral Home. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Jonas Smith officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Rock Hill Cemetery. 

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Beegle to the Bedford County Humane Society, 182 Bohn Road, Bedford, PA 15522.
