Cathy Bartholomew-Weiss Obituary
Cathy L. Bartholomew-Weiss, 70, of Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1954 in Roaring Spring, PA; a daughter of the late Charles Franklin, Jr. and Berniece (Acker) Lantz. On October 29, 1976 in Bedford, PA; she was united in marriage to Roger A. Bartholomew, he preceded her in death on April 13, 2012. She later married Samuel Weiss. He preceded her in death in December 2024.
She is survived by children Jason Bartholomew and spouse Amanda, Hyndman, PA; and Julie married to Bart Steinbuch, Bedford, PA; step children Lynn Gregory Bartholomew, Painsville, OH; Luann married to Dwight Bottoms, McMinnville, TN; grandchildren Brock Bartholomew, Riley Steinbuch, Jordan Bartholomew, Camryn Steinbuch, Mylah Steinbuch, Iona Grace Fuller, Randy Gregory and Jessica McCormick; several great grandchildren; siblings Carol Hungerford, Crystal married to Edward Emerick, Charlotte married to Brian Steele, Lisa married to Terry Smith, Randy Lantz married to Sandra; and former daughter-in-law Crystal Bartholomew
She was preceded in death by siblings Corliss Doyle, Lance Lantz, Thomas Lantz and Wayne L. Lantz.
She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1972. She was of the Baptist Faith. Cathy started her career in bookkeeping at the FBI and later was bookkeeper and manager at the YMCA in Painesville, OH. After moving to Everett she managed the Everett American Legion for a number of years.
She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, tending to her flowers, working puzzles, woodworking with Sam and spending time with her grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Ruth Joudry officiating.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
