Catherine Jean (Workman) Mort

Catherine Jean Mort, 84, of Saxton, PA; passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on November 15, 1938 in Saxton, PA; a daughter of the late Robert H. and Edith (Smith) Workman.  She was first married to James D. Mort, he preceded her in death in 1994.  She later married Richard C. Antes.

Along with her husband Richard, she is survived by children Michael David Mort, Sandra Lynne Mort married to Kevin Backauskas, Thomas James Mort married to Ashley; grandchildren Hannah Mort, Gaven Mort, Paisley Mort; a brother David Frank Workman and sisters Barbara K. Hammond married to Wayne and Alice Ann Eichelberger.

She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Ruth Kifer.

Jean was a member of the Stonerstown Church of the Brethren.

She was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School Class of 1956.  She was employed by Hershey Food Corporation as a manager for many years until her retirement in 1995.

She enjoyed traveling, having traveled to all fifty states, gardening, pie and jam making, bicycling, knitting, and being with family and hosting the annual July family picnic at her Tussey Mountain retreat.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Stonerstown Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mary Garvey officiating.

Burial will follow at the St. Luke’s Cemetery.
