Carol A. (Smyers) Decker

Carol A. “Pooch” Decker, 83, of Everett, PA; passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at home.  She was born on October 31, 1942 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late James C. and Lola Mae (Lane) Smyers.  On June 23, 1959 in Winchester, VA ; she was united in marriage to Junior H. Decker.  He preceded her in death on February 03, 2019.

She is survived by the following children Lori Ann Miller, Everett, PA; Lonnie Decker married to Barbara (Wilt), Everett, PA; Larry Decker married to Lisa (Clingerman), Everett, PA; and Lynn Decker married to Starla (Akers), Breezewood, PA; nine grandchildren Michelle, Lane, Linsey, Brittany, Lexie, Skyla, Shay, Luke and Chace, eight great grandchildren Nathan, Cody, Levi, Jetzy, Kenzly, Carson, Charles and Drake; siblings Roger Smyers married to Susan, York, PA; Mary Lou Hendershot, Everett, PA; Kenneth E. Smyers married to Elena, Pace, Florida.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Conda “Bud” Miller, siblings Connie Smyers and James R. Smyers.

Carol attended the Mt. Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.  She and her husband enjoyed camping for many years, especially at Raystown Lake.  Carol was mainly a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed caring for children and later keeping her grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking for them and spending time with them.

Carol had a love for country music.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 9:30 until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Hott officiating.

Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
