Bonnie Clark Obituary

Bonnie Irene (Drake) Clark went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1951, in Roaring Spring, PA, a daughter to the late Malcolm and Marie (Cogan) Drake. Over 56 years ago on August 16, 1969, she married the love of her life, Gary D. Clark. 

She is survived by her husband and their three children, Sidney (Kathy), Michele (Eric) and Michael (Denelle); Twelve grandchildren - Angela (Cole), Kimberly (Stephen), Chelsey (Noah), Andru, Evelyn, Ruthie, Kristen (Jordan), Courtland (Hailey), Noah (Karen), Erica, Colton (Madylin) and Malachi; four great grandchildren - Serena, Samuel, Sebastian and Grace. Also surviving is her sister Betty (Wayne) and her sister-in-law Lillian along with many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert (Donna Mae), Donald, Benjamin, Martha (Paul, Sr.), Ronald (Candie) and Edward.

She was a 1969 graduate from Central High School but waited until later in life to attend college. She attended and graduated from Allegheny College of Maryland, Shippensburg University of PA and Temple University. She was employed by Lion Manufacturing until the factory closed and went on to work at Bonanza Restaurant, Breezewood Truck Stop, Flower by Mick and finished her career with many years of service working for Bedford County Children and Youth Services. She was an active member of the Everett Assembly of God Church before illness set in.  She served as a Deaconess and Women’s Ministry Leader for many years. She loved gardening, flowers, knitting, crafting, crocheting and watching her kids’ and grandchildren’s activities. She was a 4-H, Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader for many years and earned one of the highest awards in Boy Scouts.

Family and friends will be received at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am and a service immediately following with Pastor John W. Wiley officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Bedford County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, everyone is asked to contribute in Bonnie’s memory to the Everett Assembly of God Church, 161 Blackstone Rd, Everett, PA 15537.
