Betty L. Steele

Betty L. Steele, 85, of Hopewell, PA; passed away on August 2, 2021 at Meadow View Nursing Home, Berlin.  She was born on April 4, 1936 in Riddlesburg, PA; a daughter of the late George and Alverda (Dickinson) Heister.  On May 19, 1956 in Raven Run Church of the Brethren she was united in marriage to Robert E. Steele. 

 Along with her husband of sixty-five years, she is survived by two children Brenda Plummer married to Steve, Hagerstown, MD and  Brad Steele married to Debbie, Hopewell; grandchildren Jennifer, Emily, Stephanie, Kyle, Stacie and Katie; great grandchildren Elli, Livie, Bryer, Grayson, Ava, Josie and twin boys on the way; and sisters Dorothy Wydenowski, Virginia Auger and Wanda Castle.

She was preceded in death by a sister Helen Rinard.

She was a member of Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren.  Mrs. Steele helped on the family farm and cooked at the New Frontier Restaurant.  She enjoyed quilting.

She was a graduate of Robert P. Smith High School Class of 1954.

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Brian Coffman officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery.
