Betty J. Barkman

Betty J. Barkman, 89, of Frame Church Road, Clearville, PA; went home to be with the Lord with family by her side on Monday, August 05, 2024.  She was born on January 26, 1935; a daughter of the late Robert and Nola (Morral) Morris.  On August 13, 1955 in Cumberland, Maryland; she married Duane Delano Barkman.  He preceded her in death on February 17, 2019.

She is survived by children Montie W. Barkman married to Judy, Clearville, PA; Connie K. married to Kent Cornell, Clearville, PA; Cherie A. married to Kevin Grimes, Clearville, PA; five grandchildren Dustin Barkman, Justin Grimes married to Brandi, Wesley Grimes married to Alicia, Kyle Cornell married to Heather and Kayla married to Dustin Wilson and ten great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her siblings she was preceded in death by siblings Ivan Morris, Bruce Morris, Kathryn Clark and Robert Ross Morris.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clearville, PA.  Betty served as treasurer of the Clearville Union Cemetery and Monroe Township Burial Association for many years.

Betty loved cooking, baking, gardening, canning and mowing grass. 

Along with her husband Duane, they owned and operated Barkman’s Plumbing and Heating for over thirty-one before retiring in 1999.

She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1953.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Friday, August 09, 2024 from 11-1 P.M.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 09, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at the Akers Funeral Home with Lay Speaker Robbie Roland officiating. 

Burial will be held at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clearville, PA.
