Bernard Stewart, a dedicated US Navy hospital corpsman and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Cumberland, Maryland, Bernard proudly served his country for 20 years, deploying to Kuwait, Lebanon, and Grenada.
He was a respected and skilled medical professional. After retiring from the military, he continued his life of service for an additional 26 years in the civilian medical field. At work and with family, Bernard was always quick with a joke and would brighten everyone’s day. His favorite pastime was sitting down with his pipe, a good book, and his dog Gracie.
Bernard is survived by his two children, Nial and Sarah, and his grandson, Shaw. He was a widower of 43 years. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him for his unwavering commitment to service, to his family, country and patients.
