Belva Louise Karns, 89, of Everett, PA; passed away on December 25, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin, PA. She was born on July 11, 1935 in Ashcom, PA; a daughter of the late Sherman “Barney” and Anna (Diehl) Barnes. On May 7, 1954 in Cumberland, MD; she was united in marriage to Arden F. “Biscuit” Karns. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2018.
She is survived by two sons Linford A. Karns married to Karen (O'Brien), Everett and Mark F. Karns married to Melanie (Lane), Everett, PA; grandson Patrick Williams married to Lindsay and their sons Royce and Sterling; siblings Roxanna Price, Wayne Barnes married to Joan, William Barnes and Patsy Barns.
She was preceded in death by siblings Granville "Tude" Barnes, Rodger Barnes, Randolph "Doodle" Barnes, James Barnes and Vicky Phillips.
Belva proudly graduated in 1953 from Everett High School.
Belva was employed by Deist Cleaners and later worked part-time at the Bedford Wash House and Cleaners. She never met a stranger and loved interacting with all.
She was one of the charter members of the Everett Seventh Day Adventist Church, Everett; where she enjoyed volunteering throughout the years. Through her very strong faith she overcame numerous hurdles throughout her life.
Belva was an avid reader, loved family and American history and enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings. Her family was, apart from Jesus, the most important thing to her.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 and on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Ball officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Rock Hill Cemetery.
