Annette D. Davis

Annette D. (Dunkle) Davis, 92, of Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Colonial Courtyard, Bedford.  She was born on April 22, 1931 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late B. Frank Dunkle Sr. and Lela (Price) Dunkle.  On June 12, 1954 in the Everett United Methodist Church, she was united in marriage to Dr.  J. Thomas Davis.  He preceded her in death on September 2, 2023.  

She is survived by children Thomas B. Davis, Claysburg; Heather A. Davis, Everett and Holly D. Anderson, Everett; grandchildren Wendy J. Gattinella, Lela C. Clark, Vincent T. Anderson and Joseph E. Anderson; great grandchildren Vinny, Benny, Jacob, Henry, Audrey, Blakely, Juliana and Ella.   

She was preceded in death by a brother Benjamin Franklin Dunkle Jr. and late wife Catherine “Kitty”.

Ann was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1949 and received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Art Education.  She started her career as an art educator and later worked as a medical assistant.

Mrs. Davis had a love for art, she was an avid collector and supporter.  She adored Bedford County, her hometown, the mountains and nature.  She was an animal philanthropist, having supported the ASPCA, local humane shelters and simply an animal guardian.

She loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always looking for any opportunity to dote on them.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Taylor Johnston officiating.

Burial will follow at the Everett Cemetery.
