Alta Fetters Obituary

Alta Lee Fetters, 90 of Everett, went to be with the Lord on January 21st at her home with her daughter by her side.
Born February 5, 1929, in Artemas, PA , she was the daughter of Mary Francis (Hendershot) Smith and Stewart S. Smith.
In January, 1945, she married Eldon Darius Fetters who preceded her in death in October 1953.  She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Ann and a 14 year old son, Eldon Dewayne.  She was also married to Robert Salked, deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Fetters of Frederick, Maryland.
Alta was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Everett for over 50 years and very much enjoyed helping with the church dinners.  In her youth, she was a member of the Fairview Christian Church in Artemas.  She was employed by the Everett Lion Manufacturing Co. for over 30 years and later worked for the Quality Inn in Breezewood and the Everett Christian Home.  After retiring, she thoroughly enjoyed working in her garden and flower beds.  She loved vacationing with her daughter in Florida and cruising the Caribbean Sea.  She was especially fond of the cats she had over the years: Major, Bootsie, and Princess  and walking the neighbor's dog, Duke.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions in Alta's name to the Bedford County Humane Society.

Friends and Family will be received on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 with Pastor Kathy Popp officiating.
