Allen M. Jay

Allen M. Jay, 86, of Clear Ridge Road, Artemas, Pennsylvania passed away at Bedford Post-Acute on Friday, March 06, 2026.  He was born on November 21, 1939 in Artemas, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Frank and Orintha Pearl (Tewell) Jay.  On February 6, 1960 in Yellow Creek he married Helen Jeanetta (Browell) Jay.  She preceded him in death on December 12, 2012.

He is survived by three children Catharine married to Warren Shatzer, Clearville, PA;

Patricia married to A. Edward Clark, Clearville, PA and Bryan Jay, Artemas, PA.  He will always be remembered by his nine grandchildren Elaina Carroll, Allie Frear, Luke Clark, Kelley Rohrbaugh, Jacob Jay, Erin Jay-Burket, Nathaniel Clark, Elizabeth Jay and Andrew Jay and eight great grandchildren.

Allen was preceded in death by two daughters and the following siblings Leo F. Jay, Adna Assel, Wanda Shipley and Mary Kathryn Smith.

Allen was a graduate from Everett High School Class of 1956.  He owned and operated their family dairy farm for many years alongside his wife and later his son and grandsons and a family owned butcher shop.  Farming, family, and friends were his highest priority. Spending time, working together, telling stories, and laughing was what he liked to do. He enjoyed seeing his great grandchildren. He especially looked forward to seeing Peyton who greeted him with a “Hey Pap”. 

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at noon.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett with Pastor Todd Jay officiating.

Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Artemas.
