Allan Richard McEldowney, 86, of Indiana, PA passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at UPMC Carlisle. Born in Riddlesburg, PA on September 8, 1938 to the late Harry and Zella (Rinard) McEldowney.
By Grace through Faith, Allan was saved and deeply loved the Lord, his country and especially his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Allan was united in marriage to the love of his life Judy Cunningham on August 27, 1966 and were inseparable for over 58 years.
Allan was a 1958 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School. Allan served his country from 1961 to 1963 in the US Army stationed at Fort Story, VA. He was employed by New Enterprise Stone and Lime and the Pennsylvania Electric Company starting at the Saxton Nuclear Generating Station. Allan retired from the PENELEC Keystone Generating Station with 32 years of service.
Allan and Judy made their lives in Indiana, PA staying involved in their community, church, and their children’s schools. He was a member of the Indiana Alliance Church.
Allan was a friend to everyone he met. He was an avid outdoorsman and Pennsylvania deer hunter. Allan especially enjoyed travelling with Judy to see and spend time with their grandchildren.
Allan, beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, will be remembered by his wife Judy, son Eric (Tracey) McEldowney and daughter Ann Suzette (Keith) Dzura. His grandchildren: Matthew (Angela) McEldowney, Benjamin McEldowney, Hannah Dzura and Sarah Dzura.
Allan is survived by his sister Carol Clime and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings (Delores, Lorraine, Arthur, Joseph, Jackson, Vivian, William, James, Ronald, and Dean).
Friends and Family will be received on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 from 2-3:00 P.M.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Akers Funeral Chapel at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim McIntyre officiating.
Burial will be held at Fockler Cemetery with full military honors by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Indiana PA Alliance Church, Riddlesburg Church of the Brethren, or Raven Run Church of the Brethren.
