Alice Mae Heffner, 92, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on November 21st, 2024. Born in Saxton, PA on August 03, 1932, to the late Thomas L. and Pauline (Wenrick) Hess. She was a long time resident of Yardley, PA before moving to Mesa, AZ.
Alice was the devoted wife to the late Thomas W. Heffner for 53 years before his passing on August 16, 2005. A loving and generous mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Steinkirchner of Mesa, AZ, grandsons, Steven Steinkirchner (Sonia) and Brian Steinkirchner (Sharon) and three great-grandchildren, Steven Jr., Sadie, and Thomas, whom will miss her dearly. Preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Earl, and Dick and an infant brother Jack.
Born and raised in Saxton, PA, she graduated from Saxton Liberty High School in 1951. After getting married, Alice moved to Yardley, PA with her husband where she retired from the New Jersey State Police. She was a long time member and elder at the First Presbyterian church of West Trenton.
Alice loved sitting outside enjoying the sunshine, reading romantic novels, cooking for family holidays, traveling with friends and family, watching her favorite TV programs, and most of all spending time with all of her loved ones.
The family will receive friends at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 on December 6, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Rob Reed officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Saxton, PA.
