Albert F. “Abby” Calhoun, 89, of South Breezewood Road, Breezewood, PA;  passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Donahoe Manor., Bedford, PA.  He was born on June 6, 1927 in Breeewood, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Theodore and Nellie (Layton) Calhoun.  On September 4, 1946 he married Ruby (Fink) Calhoun. 

Along with his wife of sixty-eight years, he is survived by daughters Brenda Snyder, Everett, PA; Charlene married to Warren Barkman, Jr., Everett, PA; Marsha and Ben Hall, Jr., Everett, PA and Lisha married to Jim Cornell, Bedford, PA; daughter-in-law Dee Calhoun, Hopewell, PA; grandchildren:   Tammy Price, Roni Snyder, Kim Reighard, Lorraine Thomas, Robert Cornell, Andrew Barkman, Albert Calhoun and Dawn Cornell; ten great grandchildren; brother Guy Calhoun, Bedford, PA; sister Ila Bollman, Breezewood, PA; sister-in-laws:  Donna Calhoun, Breezewood and Olive Calhoun, Schellsburg.

He was preceded in death by a son Glen Calhoun, grandson Jerry Barkman; brothers Nile and Roy Calhoun; son in-law Gerald Snyder; brother in-law Robert Bollman and sister-in-law: Mary Calhoun.

Albert served in the United States Army during the Korean War as an auto mechanic and truck driver.  After being discharge from the military he drove milk truck for a few years for his family before starting his forty year career with New Enterprise Stone and Lime until his retiring in 1990.

Abby enjoyed spending time with family and friends on holidays and visiting with everyone.  He enjoyed racing and was part of the pit crew for #880 Roy Morral Racing Team.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett with Pastor H. Lee Ritchey officiating.

Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
