William R. Kisner, Sr., 83, of Sweet Root Road, Bedford, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. He was born on June 14, 1934 in Washington, Pennsylvania; a son of the late William E. Kisner and Gladys (Phillips) Kisner-Gomez. He was united in marriage to Betty J. Kisner. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2008.
He is survived by children Rev. William R. Kisner, Jr. married to Debora, Everett, PA; LeAnn Kisner, Muncie, IN; Sandra Morris, Muncie, IN; and a sister of these siblings Betty Geyman, Albany, IN; adopted daughter Michele Chadwell, WV; siblings Joyce Lusher married to Jack, Avella, PA and Donald Kisner, Eighty Four, PA; four grandchildren Bryan Kisner married to Diane; Jonathan Kisner married to Jennifer; Chelsea Morris and Jacob Morris; four great grandchildren Katrina, Samantha, Ryan and Daina.
He was preceded in death by the following siblings Margaret Tebalt, Mildred Gatten, LeRoy Kisner, Ernest LeRoy Kisner; James Elmer Kisner, Joseph Kisner; son-in-law: Robert Morris.
William was a member of the Everett Church of God. He was formerly very active in the Washington Church of God where he served on various boards and committees and was a long time standing member.
Mr. Kisner served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-1952.
Throughout the years he was employed at Donley Brick Company, Harper Feed Mill, Atlas Glass Company and later working for Findley Clay for thirty-three years before retiring in 1996. Bill was a foreman and served as a shop steward and lead negotiator for labor union contracts for a number of years. He had a great work ethic and never missed work.
He enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and squirrels and watching westerns.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5-7 P.M.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Singo officiating from Washington Church of God.
Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.
