Thomas P. Wolfe

Thomas P. Wolfe, 90, of Cove Road, Wells Tannery, PA; passed away on July 31, 2018 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, PA.  He was born on May 28, 1928 in Windber, PA; a son of the late Rudolph L. and Rhoda C. (Taylor) Wolfe.  On September 1, 1950 he married Joan (Yetter) Wolfe in Wells Tannery, Pennsylvania.

Along with his wife of sixty-seven years, he is survived by son Steven Wolfe married to Jan (Conn), Shippensburg, PA; daughter Melinda married to Thomas Deremer, Wells Tannery, PA; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by siblings Margie Weist, Shelley “Jack” Conner, Charlotte Diehl, William Wolf, Rudolph “Rudy” Wolfe and infant brother Simon Wolfe.

He was Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #81 of Wells Valley from its origination in 1958 until 1979.  The troop was responsible for building the Wells Valley Lodge at Sinoquipe Scout Reservation.

Tom was employed as a field engineer for the former United Telephone Company, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church at Wells Tannery from 1958 till it’s closing in 2003, where he served as church treasurer for many years.  After which he joined Sherman’s Valley Brethren in Christ Church in 2006 until present.

Tom never met a stranger and always had time to share a story.

Family and Friends will be received on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2-4 P.M. at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastors Rick and Sharon Riley officiating.

Burial will be held in Everett Cemetery.
