Susan E. (Reed) Detwiler

Susan Elizabeth Detwiler, 74, of Pinchot Road, Saxton, PA; went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on January 8, 1945 in Saxton, Pennsylvania; a daughter of late Lloyd L. and Hilda (Hoffman) Reed.  On January 9, 1965 in the Raven Run Church of the Brethren she was united in marriage to George Detwiler.

Along with her husband she is survived by children, Becki Reed married to Rob; Daniel Detwiler married to Becky and Andrew Detwiler married to Katie; grandchildren Bobby Reed married to Jamie; Erin Penny married to Robbie, Zach Detwiler married to Brooke; Austin Detwiler, Nicolas Detwiler, Gabriel Detwiler, Miranda Deterline, Amber Deterline, Luke Davis and Dustin Deterline married to Bailey; great-grandchildren Riley Reed, Easton Reed, Owen Detwiler, Ander Rash and Soren Rash.

Mrs. Detwiler was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1963.  After she had raised her kids, she began employment at Tussey Mountain High School where she worked as a library aide until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting with the church ladies and was involved with the church pavilion.

She was a member of the Raven Run Church of the Brethren.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 10:00 A.M until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 12 Noon at the Raven Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Allen Baker officiating.

Burial will be held at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
