Samuel Breckenridge Sr. Obituary

Samuel W. Breckenridge, Sr., 87, Everett, formerly of Frederick MD; passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on September 21, 1931 in Leesburg, Virginia; a son of the late Jim and Lillian (Ballenger) Breckenridge. 

He is survived by children Terri Johnson married to Rick, Boston, VA; Jewel Lyles married to Rick, Reva, VA; Daniel Johnson married to Sam, Bowie, MD and Samuel Breckenridge, Jr. married to Linda, Everett, PA; grandchildren Barry Edwards married to Susan, Culpeper, VA; Autumn Yowell married to Randi, Culpeper, VA; Sterling Edwards married to Melanie, Culpeper, VA; Kynan Edwards married to Shannon, Culpeper, VA; Beth Wharton married to Brian, Castletown, VA; Julie Gardner married to C.J., Alexandria, VA; K.C. Johnson, Herndon, VA; Aric Breckenridge, Everett, PA; Emily Fox, Laurel, MD; Levi Johnson, Halethrope, MD and Wendi Yermal, Baycliff, TX; great-grandchildren Ethan, Evan, Nathan, Alana, Layla, Bella, Sydney, Chase, Karley, Joslyn and Lily and special friend Shirley Fani.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by first wife Shelby (Burke) Breckenridge, second wife Ella (Droneburg) Breckenridge and daughters Tamara Copeland and Michelle Burke.

Samuel served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Sr. Munitions Specialist from 1951-1954.  He worked as a repairman for H.B. Duvall in Frederick servicing dairy equipment for many years. Upon retiring to Everett, he enjoyed playing cards with his friends and sharing stories of his youth with anyone who would lend an ear.  He loved spending time with his kitty “Callie” watching Young and the Restless and Big Bang Theory.

Friends and Family will be received on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 5-8 P.M. at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
