Roger L. Dicken, 70, of Barkman Ridge Road, Clearville, PA; passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Conemaugh Health System, Johnstown. He was born on September 19, 1948 in Clearville, PA; a son of the late Paul Dicken, Sr. and Catherine M. (Clark) Dicken. He was first married to Janet (Morse) Dicken; she preceded him in death on December 11, 1996. On March 17, 2001 at Clear Ridge Fellowship Church, he was united in marriage to Deborah C. (Jay) Dicken.
Along with his wife he is survived by children Tangy Foor married to Jerry; Trena Fletcher married to Dan; Tonya Swankler married to Clifford and Michele Siegele and friend Wess Leach; grandchildren Keshia Sheets married to Mason; Hayley Brown married to Kyle; Devin Smith, Jordan Swankler, Katie Swankler, Lydia Swankler and Cameron Klinger and great-granddaughter Kynlee Brown.
Along with his first wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Foor; brothers Victor Dicken and his wife Mary Jane; brother Paul Dicken Jr. and his wife Emma; grandsons Airman 1st Class Jeffrey Jonovich and Bradley Foor.
In Roger’s younger years he worked in the woods cutting timber, later working for Cormac Trucking, S&H Express and currently Smith Transport working as a jockey driver.
Roger was a devoted Christian, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is leaving behind his best friend and faithful companion “Muffie” his dog, whom he took on a “cow ride” every evening.
Friends and family may call at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Lyle Mellott and Pastor Clifford Swankler officiating.
Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery.
