Michael E. Caro

Michael E. Caro, 89, of Locust Drive, Everett, PA; passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on May 2, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a son of the late John P. and Mary Elizabeth (Brinza) Caro.  On August 13, 1949 in St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford, PA; he was united in marriage to LaRue B. (Ross) Caro.

Along with his loving wife of sixty-eight years, he is survived by three children James M. Caro married to Sue (Oyler), Everett, PA; Brenda Lee married to Barry Barkman, Everett, PA and Pat J. Caro married to Christine (Kozlowski), Marysville, PA; five grandchildren Spence Barkman, Ryan Barkman, Matthew Barkman, Trent Barkman and Michael Caro; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by siblings Joseph Caro, John Caro and William Caro.

Mike was a member of the St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, Everett.  He was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1946.  He was a former member of the Everett Jaycees and longtime former member of the Everett Volunteer Fire Company.

Mr. Caro served in the United States National Guard for thirty-eight years, retiring as a First Sergeant.

Mr. Caro enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and working around his home.  He loved his dogs.  Mike was a man who loved the simple pleasures in life.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 161 East First Avenue, Everett, PA 15537 with Father Derek Fairman officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.
