Marjorie E. Mearkle

Marjorie E. Mearkle, 84, of Emerson Hollow Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on February 6, 1934 in Monroe Township, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Vernon L. and C. Pauline (Rice) Mearkle.  On August 20, 1951 in Cumberland, MD; she was united in marriage to Linwood E. Mearkle.  She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years and four children Vicky married to Warren Weaver, York, PA, Bryon Mearkle married to Julie (Calhoun), Everett, PA, Trudy married to Marty Foor, Everett, PA and Amy Mearkle, Hollidaysburg, PA; grandchildren Heidi Weaver-Umur married to Serdar, Casey Mearkle Colledge married to Kevan, Charlie Mearkle, Kari Weaver, Jamie Mearkle Kisamore married to Kenney, Joshua Mearkle, Lana Foor and Ethan Foor; seven great grandchildren and two brothers Benjamin L. Mearkle married to Patricia, Breezewood, PA and Donald A. Mearkle married to Carol, Everett, PA.

Mrs. Mearkle was a lifelong member of Rock Hill Christian Church.  She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1951.

Over the years she worked alongside her husband on the Family Dairy Farm.  She was a past member of the Bedford County Dairy Promotion Committee and enjoyed quilting, baking and reading.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rock Hill Christian Church with Pastor Fran Scott and Pastor William Edwards officiating.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Burial will be held at Rock Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Mearkle to the Rock Hill Cemetery Association, 872 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
