Margaret M. Maslanik, 90, of Saxton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. She was born on May 9, 1927 in Amesbury, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Thomas Risbon Sr. and Elizabeth (Pinter) Risbon. On November 27, 1951 in Puttstown, Pennsylvania; she married Michael Maslanik. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2005.
She is survived by two children Gary R. Lane married to Ann (Moore), York, SC and Michelle M. married to John Wyles, Jr., James Creek, PA; grandchildren Kelly Lane-Jones, Rock Hill, SC; G. Richard Lane II, Rock Hill, SC; Michelle “Missy” Nestor, Mechanicsburg, PA; Michael Wyles, James Creek, PA; Casey Lane, York, SC and Gena Lane, Rock Hill, SC; great grandchildren Sydney and Sadler Jones; Morgan, Garrett and Jackson Lane; Andrew Lane; Ethan and Brandon Nestor; siblings James Risbon married to Thelma, Saxton, PA; George Risbon married to Liz, Honey Brook, PA; Verna Clifford married to Ted, Roaring Spring, PA; Rose Mary “Posie” Zelanko, Saxton, PA and Albert Risbon married to Dorothy “Dottie”, Honey Brook, PA.; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Risbon, Saxton, PA. and Jean Risbon, Saxton, PA.
Along with her husband and parents Margaret was preceded in death by siblings
John “Moose” Risbon, Thomas Risbon, Sr., Lawrence “Lee” Risbon and Caroline Knowles and a brother-in-law Stephen Zelanko.
Mrs. Maslanik was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dudley. She enjoyed playing Bingo, singing, playing guitar, and was a yodeler. She was an excellent cook and acted as hostess for family functions and special occasions. Peg was known for her marvelous wit.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Matthew Baum officiating.
Family and Friends may call at Akers Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. A Wake Service will be held Monday evening.
Burial will be held at Ave Maria Catholic Cemetery, Dudley.
