Margaret M. (Manspeaker) Carbaugh

Margaret M. Carbaugh, 91, of Yellow Creek Drive, Hopewell, Pennsylvania; passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at The Village at Morrisons Cove in Martinsburg.  She was born on July 23, 1928 in Saxton, Pennsylvania; the daughter of the late Lester P. and Ruth G. (Wyles) Manspeaker.  She was united in marriage on January 3, 1947 to Robert W. Carbaugh; they celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage prior to his passing in December of 2004.

She is survived by daughters Chris married to Bob Over, Martinsburg, PA; Cathy married to Sam Detwiler, Hopewell, PA and Deb married to Steve Stepisianos, Hopewell, PA; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; brothers Harvey Reed and Tom Donaldson.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amy Jo Over and siblings Donna Ritchey and Joe Manspeaker.

Margaret was a graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School Class of 1946.  She was a member of Raven Run Church of the Brethren and Saxton Chapter No. 161 Order of the Easter Star.

Over the years Peg worked for Dr. Hitchens in Saxton and as an aid for Saxton-Liberty School.  Mrs. Carbaugh owned and operated Happy Hollow Restaurant and she and her husband owned and operated Bob Carbaugh Petroleum and Real Estate.  

She loved to cook and take care of her family.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Raven Run Church of the Brethren, 616 Raven Run Road, Saxton, PA 16678 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour at the church.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Raven Run Church of the Brethren at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain and Pastor Allen Baker officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
