Loretta M Simmons

Loretta M. “Toots” Simmons, 87, of West Graceville Road, Everett, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on August 24, 1931 in Six Mile Run, PA; a daughter of the late Martin and Dollie (Garlick) O’Neal.  On June 11, 1950 in Rays Cove she married Robert D. Simmons.  He preceded her in death on January 22, 2011. 

She is survived by five children Linda A. Ritchey, York, PA; Robert K. Simmons, Everett; Debbie J. married to A. Duyane Williams, Everett; Clinton D.  Simmons and fiancé Linda Bauer, Everett and Leslie J. married to Roy Miller, Everett; grandchildren:  Christina Clark, Michelle Miller, Jennifer Gianato, Kenton Simmons, Christopher Hagmaier and Melinda Miller; great grandchildren:  Harley Clark, Dylan Clark, Timothy Clark, Kyle Miller, Ashley Miller, Lorelai Hagmaier, Madelyn Hagmaier, Olivia Hagmaier, Gabriel Simmons and Adley Simmons; and a brother Clinton O’Neal, Everett.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Roy F. Ritchey and daughters-in-law Connie (Logston) Simmons and Sandra (Imler) Simmons; siblings Mazie Allen, Helen Lockard, Sylvia Foor, Hulda Border and LeRoy “Bud” O’Neal.

Mrs. Simmons was of the Protestant Faith.

Toots was a devoted homemaker, caring for her family and grandchildren.  She was a member of the Everett American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, participated in local bowling leagues for several years.  She enjoyed going with her late husband on fishing trips to Canada for lake trout.

Mrs. Simmons cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Family and Friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 6-8 P.M.

Burial will be held privately.
