Mrs. Pepple was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1948.
She attended the Everett Church of the Brethren, helping with many programs at the church.

Lillian’s husband chose the United States Air Force as a career, she spent forty plus years making home in seven states and one foreign country.
To stay occupied when he traveled she found volunteering to be fulfilling, starting out as a Girl Scout Leader, which only lasted until her husband’s next assignment.
Red Cross was next, where she held nearly every position that could be held on an Air Force Base Hospital; she was awarded the Clara Barton Medal for efforts.
After the military career ceased and they returned to the states making a home locally she read an ad in AARP magazine for volunteers to prepare income tax forms to assist older and low income folks.
She and her husband set up the program in five Senior Centers in Bedford County.
She then recruited and taught other volunteers to assist in the program, this program continued for twenty-two years, even beyond the passing of her husband.
Lillian received the Jan Cooper Award and three nominations for AARP Andrus Award.

Mrs. Pepple served eight years on the Everett Area School Board and loved knitting, quilting and sewing.
Much of her daughter’s clothing was homemade and they took great pride in it as no one else had anything like it.
