LeRoy K. Helsel

LeRoy K. Helsel, 70, of French Creek Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Donahoe Manor.  He was born on March 12, 1947 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Edward and Phyllis (Martz) Helsel.  On January 7, 1978 in the Everett Baptist Church, he was united in marriage to Sheryl L. (Clouse) Helsel. Along with his wife of thirty-nine years he is survived by children: Kenny Helsel married to Mandy (Reyan), Breezewood, PA, David Helsel, New Enterprise, Jeff Helsel, New Enterprise, Tony Helsel, Columbia, PA and Bob Helsel, Lewistown, PA; brother, Lester Helsel and sister, Julianne Stalter; grandchildren, Jordan, Jade, Sadie married to Dylan, Nathaniel, Kenzie and Zane; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Lloyd Helsel.

LeRoy worked as a truck driver for Crete Carrier Corporation and Leo Ramsey Trucking as well as various other companies throughout the years.

He was a member of Mt. Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and served as a Boy Scout Leader for many years.

Mr. Helsel served in the United States Navy as an E-3 during Vietnam War.

Family and Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett.

Graveside and Burial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Rays Cove Cemetery with Pastor Ronald Hott officiating.
