Joseph M. Murdock

Joseph Michael Murdock, 65, of Pleasant Valley Road, Crystal Spring, PA; passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at home.  He was born on November 9, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Nicklas J. and Irene S. (Gurchek) Murdock.

On June 24, 1978 in Breezewood, PA, he was united in marriage to the former Debra Lee (Markle) Murdock.

Along with his wife he is survived by son Joseph Paul Murdock married to Morgan, Crystal Spring, PA and grandson Rylan Daniel Murdock; siblings Diane Ketchel married to Walter, Pittsburgh, PA; Judy Kress married to Victor, Sarasota, FL and Nicklas A. Murdock married to Maryann, Waynesboro, PA; sister-in-law Tammy Markle-Smyers married to Scott and mother-in-law Shirley Markle.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Terry Markle.

Joseph served in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Murdock was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 8 and the Breezewood V.F.W. Post No. 8333.  He worked as a truck driver all his life but most recently drove for Save-a-Lot in Williamsport, PA.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 with Pastor Beth Pyles officiating.

Friends and Family will be received on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4-8 P.M. at Akers Funeral Home, Inc. and on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the chapel.

Burial will be held at Akersville Cemetery.
