John E. Duggan

John Edward Duggan, 90, of Big Creek Road, Clearville; passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Born on June 1, 1928 in Plymouth, England he moved to Rochester, New York in 1949 and was united in marriage to his wife, Margaret (O’Connor) Duggan on June 6, 1953.

Together with his wife of sixty-five years they raised seven children; Eileen Duggan decd. married to, (Larry Sill); Margaret Duffy, (Bob); Anne Duggan; Catherine Fly, (Dan); Helen Mallory, (Dick); Joe Duggan, Amy (Akers) and Mary Sydney Duggan; grandchildren Alicia Duggan, Leeann Duggan, Matt Duffy, (Jessica), Katie Duffy, Andrea Fly, (Andre II), Ella Duggan, Anna Duggan, Ethan Duggan and Stetson Duggan; great-granddaughter Lauren and great-grand son Andre III 

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Duggan; siblings Eileen Duggan and Rev. Sydney Duggan.

John took pride in serving as a Sergeant in the British Army in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before moving to New York in 1949.  He worked for forty-two years at Rochester Telephone retiring in 1992.

John will be warmly remembered by his beloved wife, family and friends for his charming personality, and quick wit.  He loved his grandchildren, nature,bird watching, fishing, Lake Ontario, and the Atlantic Ocean.

He was of the Catholic Faith.

At John’s request there will be no services.
