Jay HOWARD Brallier, 83, of Tatesville Road, Everett, PA; passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born on April 7, 1936 in Bedford, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Jesse and Susan (Batzel) Brallier. On April 12, 1957 he was united in marriage to Nancy L. (Potts) Brallier in Winchester, Virginia.
Along with his wife, Jay is survived by children Gina married to Rick Jay, Everett, PA, Ginger married to Jeff Gress, McConnellsburg, PA, Gineen Brallier, Everett, PA, Gregory Brallier husband of Pat Wattanasupt, Chantilly, VA, Brandi Brallier and fiancé Dr. Christopher Haas, Cumberland, MD; grandchildren Mindy married to Robert Gates, Timothy Bowser, Erin Clark, Lindsey married to James Yorke, Samantha married to Ben Weitzel, Jesse Young, Brooke Guyer, Bridget Guyer and Kaleb Snider; great grandchildren Macy, Mackenzie, Robert (RJ), Jake, Peighton, Jaylin, Lylah, Jase, Ben, Sophia, Alaina and Aiden; great great grandchildren Carson and Isabella; and two special caregivers Candace Crawford Smyers and Shari Reyan.
He was preceded in death by both parents and siblings Mona Housel, Dorothy Crawford, Jack Brallier, Jesse Brallier and Patty Sarka.
Howard served his country as part of the United States National Guard.
He was a graduate of the Robert P. Smith High School Class of 1954 and a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.
Howard was a truck driver, hauling automobiles for Ryder Trucking and worked construction doing carpentry. Along with his wife, Nancy, they were foster parents for many children.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, remodeling, hunting and deep-sea fishing. He was well-known for his flowers and gardening. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be remembered as a loving grandfather to all and devoted husband and father.
Friends and Family will be received at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Friday, April 19, 2019 from2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Kaleb Snider officiating.
Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Everett, PA.
