Harry F. Leonard, Sr., 94 of East Main Street, Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home in Everett, PA. He was born on October 16, 1925 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Harry E. “Pete” and Minnie V. (Ritchey) Leonard. On December 22, 1956 in Clearville, PA he was united in marriage to the former Ruth M. (Smith) Leonard.
Along with his wife of sixty-two years he is survived by children Mary Alice Bitner, Marietta, PA and Harry F. Leonard, Jr., Everett, PA; grandchildren Allison Bitner, Lancaster, PA; Terry Bitner, Middletown, PA; Vanessa Leonard, Everett, PA and Garrison Leonard, Everett, PA and Harry’s special friend Melvin Bollman.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by infant son Gary Lee Leonard; sister Mary E. Wilt and twin brother Samuel E. Leonard.
Harry was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1943. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He spent most of his working years working on the family farm, driving truck as an independent truck driver, driving activity bus for the Everett Area School District as well as driving for Bollman’s Charter Service. He was a charter member of the Raystown Ambulance as well as a member of the Everett Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. No. 524. and a lifetime member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, working outside and sitting on his front porch in the summer.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Everett Church of the Brethren, 119 East Second Street Everett, PA 15537 with Pastor Mike Benner Officiating.
Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
