Francis A. “Frank” O’Brien, 78, of Raystown Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at home after a battle with cancer. He was born on December 11, 1939 in New Baltimore, a son of the late Joseph L. and Olive (Shaab) O’Brien. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Thelma Jean (Lane) O’Brien. Along with wife he is survived by daughters Kathy married to Dennis Dibert, Everett, Karen married to Linford Karns, Everett; son-in-law Paul Rummel, Jr.; three grandchildren Philip Foor married to Lynette, Michaela McAlpine married to Brandon and Nicholas Rummel; two great grandchildren Riley and Briar Foor; two sisters Margaret Hillegass and Rita Felton.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Frances O’Brien-Rummel and the following siblings Helen, Mary, Rose, Irene, Anna, Evelyn, Theresa, Leo, Robert, Gerald and Harold.
Frank worked for J.H. Horton and Sons for several years, later a self-employed logger and retiring from Knisely and Sons of Bedford.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar Racing and being with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed the trips to Shawnee State Park to sit on the park bench with his wife.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor John Bennett officiating.
Family and Friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Thursday, May 3, 218 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
