Elaine M. Veach, 69, of Hopewell, PA; passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at home. She was born on March 2, 1949 in Roaring Spring, PA; a daughter of Patricia (McEldowney) Brallier of Hopewell and the late John “Jack” Stuart Brallier. She was united in marriage on August 17, 1968 to Paul James Veach. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2001.
Along with her mother she is survived by children James A. Veach married to Marcy (Haynal), Hopewell, PA; Jennifer L. Bonneville, Stewartstown, PA; Jody P. Veach married to Stephanie (Karns), Hopewell, PA and Jessica L. Veach married to Michael Chase, Altoona, PA; grandchildren Abigail Veach, Brittany Veach and Elishah Veach; two step grandchildren Zoe and Jadyn Chase; one great grandson Branston Gordon; siblings Daniel Brallier married to Pam, Harrisburg, PA; Neil married to Deb, Denver, CO: Kristina married to Harry Mellott, Hopewell, PA; Wesley Brallier married to Beth, Hopewell, PA; and Paula and partner Jan, Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Kenneth Bonneville.
Elaine was of the Christian Faith. She was a graduate of Northern Bedford County High School Class of 1967.
She was a freelance writer for many years writing for local publications until her health would not permit. She would specialize in human interest stories. Elaine also enjoyed fishing, horses and had a love for photography. She was active in organizing fundraisers for the Bedford County Special Olympics.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor John Bennett and Pastor Ronald Hott officiating.
Burial will be held at Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery.
