Doris “Dorie” Adams

Doris "Dorie" Ellen Adams, 59, of Adams Lane, Everett, PA; passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Doey's House, Hagerstown, MD.  She was born on April 3, 1958 in McConnellsburg, PA; a daughter of Blair Eugene and Helen Blanche (Bain) Hann of Big Cove Tannery, PA.  On December 10, 1977 by the Rev. Baughman in LaVale, MD; she was united in marriage to Johnny E. Adams.

Along with her parents and husband she is survived by three sisters Eugenia married to Darryl Kipe, McConnellsburg, PA; Via married to Mike Shaw, Needmore, PA and Robin married to Mike Hoffman, Big Cove Tannery, PA; mother-in-law Barbara Adams and several nieces and nephews.

Dorie was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School Class of 1976.

She was employed as a union seamstress at J. Shanamon, Chambersburg, Lion Manufacturing, Everett; London Fog, Hancock and later at various factories in Cumberland, Everett and Bedford.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, needlepoint, knitting and was an excellent cook.  Dorie had a love for her animals.

Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral Service will be held at the Antioch Christian Church, 7902 Timber Ridge Road, Big Cove Tannery, PA 17212 on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Russell Hoffman Officiating.   Burial will be held at the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.

If friends so desire and recommended by the family due to family allergies memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dorie to the Cancer Treatment Center of America, 2520 Elisha Avenue, Zion, IL 60099; or Doey’s House Hospice Care, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
