Donald "Frank" W. Zimmerman

February 13, 1931 ~ December 22, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Donald W. “Frank” Zimmerman, 86, of Ragged Mountain Road, Clearville,  passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at his home.   He was born on February 13, 1931 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Charles E. and Lou Emma (Clark) Zimmerman.  He was married to Helen (Fletcher) who passed away in 1972, he then married Martha E. (Swartzwelder) at the Everett Church of God in 1973. Along with his wife, Martha, of 43 years he is survived by children; Larry W. Zimmerman married to Mary Esther, Liberty, PA; Bryan C. Zimmerman, Everett, PA; Robert D. Zimmerman, Baltimore, MD; Donna R. married to Joel Zimmerman, Bedford, PA and Andrea L. Lanham married to Perry, TN; grandchildren Christopher Zimmerman, Todd Zimmerman, Amanda Reffner, Sarah Zimmerman, Ashley Bussard, David Zimmerman, Ty Zimmerman, Emily Lanham, Amber Lanham, Nicole Lanham and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son David Zimmerman; daughter-in-law Lisa Zimmerman; infant granddaughter Rebecca Zimmerman and the following siblings:

Daniel Zimmerman, Betty Stuckey, Helen Calhoun, Thomas Zimmerman, James Zimmerman, Iva “Bunt” Clark, Dorothy Calhoun, Joann Dodson and an infant sister.

Frank was a member of the Chaneysville Community Church. He enjoyed reading, watching T.V. and studying the Civil War.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Frank was employed at Exxon Mobile Company first working on the Turnpike Plaza until being promoted to Fuel Inspector for the Airport Industry along the east coast airports.  Over the years he also was employed for Caro Motors and Kramer Trucking and lastly working at Zimmerman’s Hardware for twenty years until his retirement.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 12:30 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Jonas Smith officiating.

Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Burial will be held at Chaneysville Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Frank to the Chaneysville Community Church.
