Carla Jean (Davis) Cottle

Carla Jean Cottle, 81, of Raystown Road, Hopewell, PA; passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at UPMC Altoona.  She was born on May 24, 1937 in Roaring Spring, PA; a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Snyder) Davis.  On June 10, 1956 at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren she married John Ray Cottle.

Along with her husband of sixty-two years, she is survived by children Sheri L. married to Randy Simpson, Hollidaysburg, PA; John R. Cottle, Jr. married to Karen (Fluke), Woodbury, PA; grandchildren Brandon Simpson married to Lindsay, Greenville, SC; Zachary Simpson, Hollidaysburg, PA; and Hayley and Allison Cottle, Woodbury, PA; siblings Sylvia M. Gephart, Ocala, FL and Robert A. Davis married to Betty, Hollidaysburg, PA.

Carla was a member of the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren.  She was a graduate of Robert P. Smith High School Class of 1955 and a member of the Saxton Chapter No. 161 Order of the Eastern Star. 

She worked forty-one years for the Everett Bank until her retirement.

Carla loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed flower gardening and watching Penn State football.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Debi Decker and Pastor Richard B. Fluke II officiating.
