Betty Jane Rodgers

Betty Jane (Dickinson) Rodgers, 86, of 16th Street, Saxton, PA; passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, PA.  She was born on November 29, 1931 in Saxton, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late William E. and Otta R. (Williams) Dickinson.  She was united in marriage to Clarence “Connie” Rodgers for forty-five years until his passing on March 17, 1995.

She is survived by children Cathy married to Mike Raley, Altoona, PA; Steve Rodgers married to Kim, Loysburg, PA, Sue “Ruth” married to Ron Villa, Saxton, PA;  William Rodgers married to Becky, Martinsburg, PA and Kim married to Jerry Donaldson, Saxton, PA; siblings Jessie Dickinson Skipper, Saxton, PA, Jean Dickinson Lodge married to Harvey, Riddlesburg, PA; Bonnie Dickinson Helsel married to Clarence, Imler, PA; Roy Dickinson, Saxton, PA and Debbie Dickinson Gambacurta married to Danny, Saxton, PA; sister-in-law Carol Dickinson; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Huston and a brother William Dickinson and brother-in-law Jack Skipper.  

Mrs. Rodgers was a member and faithfully attended Trinity United Church of Christ of Saxton.  She donated her talents to many church fundraisers.  Throughout the years she was employed at the Quality Manufacturing, R&R Vending and Riverside.

She enjoyed most of all her family.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She will be remembered most of all for doing anything she could for her family.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1001 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 with Pastor Jill Clawson officiating.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
