Betty L. (Smith) Rice

Betty L. Rice, 92, of Clearville, PA; passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford.  She was born on November 17, 1927 in Northcraft, PA; Fulton County; a daughter of the late Ralph and Clara (Roberts) Smith.  On December 22, 1948 she was united in marriage to William E. Rice.  He preceded her in death on June 5, 1998.

She is survived by sons Roger L. Rice married to Mona (Reed), Everett, PA; Gary W. Rice married to Deborah (Norris), Clearville, PA; grandchildren Brenda L. Smith married to Kelly, Patty J. Heath married to Chris, Randy E. Rice married to Melissa, Krista J. Woolcock married to Dennis; great grandchildren Bryan Heath, Brandon Heath, Coltin Rice, Cassandra Smith, Raelyn J. Lowery, Maygan Davis, Anecia Woolcock and Rhiannon Woolcock; siblings Richard Smith married to Kathrine, Norma Jean married to Don Mayberry, Calvin Smith and Edna Fischer; sisters-in-law Betty McMurtrie and Jane Smith, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings Mary Smith, Pauline Mearkle, Wayne Smith, Grant Smith, Donald Smith, George Smith and infant sister Doris Smith..

Betty was a member of the Clearville United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years.

She enjoyed being with family and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Betty loved gardening and cooking.  She enjoyed being a housewife/homemaker and working on the farm along side her husband.

She was a member of the McKinley-Smith American Legion Auxiliary Post 155, Artemas.

Friends and Family may call on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Fairview Christian Church, Artemas, PA.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fairview Christian Church with Rev. Milton Morris officiating.

Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
